Influences
High school journalism teacher taught me about truth in writing and clean style. English teacher taught me the key to writing well is to read critically.
My reading history is both deep and wide. I’ve read everything from Jane Austen to Theatre of the Absurd to Isaac Asimov to Edgar Allan Poe. I’ve had periods when I’ve binged on complete collections of writers from Bradbury to Shakespeare. Currently, I’m in the thrall of nonfiction. Favorites are: Sixth Extinction, Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and Just Mercy.
