Process

WRITING IN PARTNERSHIP

1. We’ve known each other for a long time, as critique partners, as fellow officers in a writing organization as friends and finally as writing partners.
2. We have an uncanny habit of generating synchronistic story ideas.
3. Our writing process is similar but not identical.  We value our partner’s process, listening and learning from each other.
4. Our writing styles dovetail.  When we each take a piece home to write, we return with vocabulary, character voices and syntax that mesh.  WE may spend too much time searching for “the perfect word”.
5. We both love to find humor all around us, even in dark material.
6. Food!  Gardening! Politics!  We have many other interests in common.  Books! TV! Movies! Art! Our dogs!
